You might wonder, "Wait this isn't your first post, where did everything else go?". And you're correct. This blog has been a bit stale, and with the new brand overhaul. It was indeed better to do a complete do-over than to continue as if nothing happened.

Reminder overhaul

As you may have noticed in the last few months, Commands such as reminders, giveaways, and lotteries have either been completely removed, disabled, or simply stopped working all together. We've been working hard to get the previous flow to be fully workable again in the current new architecture of Miki!

Veld setting up a reminder to do his daily in 20 hours.

Our first proof of concept has been released for everyone to enjoy again, so please do give is a whirl! And let us know what you think!

Daily overhaul

One of the biggest challenges in maintaining such a big codebase as Miki is to make sure all parts in the system get an equal amount of attention when it comes to keeping them strong and reliable.

With the new Miki changes we wanted to really give daily the touch-ups it so desperately needed. Some issues that the old daily had were for example that we couldn't revert your daily streak if something went wrong (which if you've been long enough in Miki's community) happened twice in the last three years. This is unacceptable, and has been resolved.

🎉 I'd like to thank @Drummss#0001 for taking this task upon himself and deliver it in time for the current release cycle.

New face, New blog

As already shown in the intro of this post, the blog has finally gotten a visual overhaul too! We've updated the software from two years of a difference and with new branding, we are actively working on making an effort to keep the blog digestable, and pretty on your eyes.

Lots of fixes and improvements!

We've had a lot of broken commands over the first quarter of 2020 due to our complete overhaul of the bot, and we've been actively moving forward to get as many of them fixed as we can! This will be our main priority for April and hopefully most of your biggest issues can be resolved over time.

It's been almost two years since a last update, and the amount of support continued over the years was amazing. I'm really excited to show everyone even more things we've been up to and hopefully from this point on we can keep these posts regular on a monthly basis.

Thank you for being so patient with Miki.

If you read all of it, have one of my favourite songs of march!
